The process for the first two clearances is relatively quick, and results are often returned within hours. Affidavits may be notarized by a notary of your choice. The FBI Check is a longer process, requires an appointment, and generally several weeks to receive your results.

Clearances may be submitted to our In-House Registrar and Risk Management Officer at

PLEASE NOTE: If you have submitted all THREE clearances to the club since 2015, you do NOT need to re-apply.

COACHING CERTIFICATIONS: US Youth Soccer requires EVERY COACH - BOTH HEAD COACHES AND ASSISTANT COACHES - to have a minimum level of soccer coaching certification in place in order to be eligible to coach. This is to ensure that all coaches are properly educated on the Coaching Philosophy that US Youth Soccer wants to see in all clubs, as well as making sure that coaches have the skills and experience to ensure that every player is getting a fun, rewarding and safe environment to fully develop their soccer skills.

GRASSROOTS COURSES: This is the MINIMUM level of certification required to coach. The Digital Coaching Center offers Grassroots Certifications in 4v4 and 7v7 aimed at coaches working with players from U5 through U12, and is accessible to all coaches. These are a pre-requisite for all higher-level coaching certifications. And as of Spring 2018, they are the MINIMUM REQUIREMENT for ALL COACHES. This certification may be obtained online.

  • DCC: The Digital Coaching Center (DCC) is here: https://dcc.ussoccer.com/
  • ONLINE 4v4 COURSE: Currently, ONLY THE 4v4 GRASSROOTS COURSE is available. The other grassroots courses are not yet available. Therefore, all new coaches should take the 4v4 Course here: https://dcc.ussoccer.com/courses/available/26/details/1547
  • CLASSROOM COURSE: In addition to the online course (above) that is required by US Youth Soccer, PAWest also requires completion of an in-person class. This class does NOT need to be completed prior to the season, but must be completed within one year of taking the online class above. Available classes may be found here: http://www.pawest-soccer.org/coaching/scheduled_courses/

Certifications may be submitted to our In-House Registrar and Risk Management Officer at

PLEASE NOTE: If you have already have a US Youth Soccer coaching certification on file - including any of the above Grassroots Courses, an F License, an E License or higher - with either the Mars Area Soccer Club or any PA West organization, please let us know.
